Rothay Garth has 15 en suite bedrooms, including superior rooms with four poster beds and spa baths and a suite with its own lounge and patio. Several rooms are on the ground floor and three are dog friendly.

Residents have use of a lounge and conservatory overlooking the Ambleside Fells and benefit from a drying & boot room and a daily licenced drinks service until 8.30pm.

Breakfast is always a treat, with an enormous selection of cereal, fruit, yoghurt and juices as well as a choice of cooked meals made with the best Lakeland produce. These include not only traditional full English but also scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and other eggy options.

Owner Simon Clark and his partner, Florence, make everybody welcome to their beautiful corner of the National Park, where snowcapped peaks render the landscape even more attractive in winter. Numerous local walks include the Castlerigg Stone Circle and the safe, easy but spectacular Sticklebarn Blea Tarn Trail.
