Kids age 18 months to six years are kicking off fun filled, healthy lives thanks to didi Rugby, a dynamic educational coaching programme devised by ex-England rugby international and mum of two Vicky Macqueen.
Using the game of rugby as inspiration, didi Rugby engages youngsters in exciting fitness activities. These not only develop healthy habits and physical skills like co-ordination, balance and mobility but also build confidence, hone social skills and instil concepts like teamwork, and sportsmanship while they are all having great fun.
Vicky was capped 23 times during an eight year span with the England rugby squad, meanwhile working as Head of PE at Hinckley’s Redmoor Academy. She also gained a level three coaching qualification. In summer 2015 she started didi Rugby with a small number of local classes, inspired by her own two children.
“Combining the coaching with being a mum I thought I would start a programme to develop confidence and get them active from a young age,” said Vicky. “They were 18 months and three years when I started. It started with eight little ones in one class. Now we have over 1000 little ones in weekly classes around the country.”
Classes are run by qualified coaches who part of a closely knit didi Rugby family personally led by Vicky. Find your nearest class now!
