CrossFit Lutterworth offers a new fitness programme to help everyone from aspiring Olympians to those at the very beginning of their wellness journey.
Everyone can benefit from the CrossFit regimen which has crossed the Atlantic bringing great results to everyone who follows it faithfully. They not only gain strength, stamina and suppleness but also develop mental resilience. Pushing themselves to accomplish their work out goals, they train themselves to achieve all their goals, not just physical ones.
CrossFit is based on a range of functional movements encompassing gymnastics, weight training, body weight movements, metabolic conditioning and mobility. These core movements are performed at high intensity to bring benefits to everyone, whatever their starting point.
CrossFit coach Katie Dunk, who runs the Lutterworth classes, says: “The movements are performed at high intensity relative to the fitness and ability of the individual. Everything is 100% scalable to suit their ability and needs.
“We have a 70 year old who has had a double knee replacement and a 25 year old superfit athlete with a six pack who work out together in the same class, but at an intensity which is suitable for them.”
People who join CrossFit Lutterworth start with an On-Ramp course to learn the basic movements and then take out monthly membership including unlimited access to coaches’ sessions, Open Gym and Team Workouts of the Day. There are options offering additional perks like Pilates classes, one-to-one coaching and physiotherapy.
The initial month’s £70 investment can be utterly life changing, not only through direct exercise but by dietary guidance and stress busting.
“A lot of the fitness industry focuses primarily on physical fitness but we are more than the sum of our parts and more than a physical body,” says Katie. “You have to do more than just exercise to be healthy and well.”
