Scrummy ice creams from Hooray’s British Gelato Kitchen have had a festive makeover for the Christmas season in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. New varieties tempting customers back again and again include moreish fig & walnut, a Santa’s Grotto concoction with sparkly sauce and Chocolate Orange Zinger. Popular Christmas Pudding Mountain tops a richly fruity base with brandy butter gelato, salted caramel sauce and whipped cream.
The whole mouthwatering array is hand made on the premises by the Hooray’s expert team led by Sara Young and her daughter Sasha Barke. They have honed the Italian-style ice cream-making skills to a deeply tasty all-British art form and they recently teamed up with the North Cotswold Dairy in Long Compton to source all their milk.
Sara says: “The milk is the freshest we can get, straight from cow to cone, with a little bit of Hooray’s magic in between. This means not only the best quality gelato for Hooray’s but also a reduced carbon footprint for our main ingredient. There is less transport and the milk is delivered in reusable churns, which enormously reduces our waste plastics.”
