The Riverside Inn
Deep in the Herefordshire countryside beside the waters of the Lugg is The Riverside Inn at Aymestrey, an ancient building reinvented as a modern gem of hospitality. Its combination of excellence in providing food, drink and accommodation has been so extraordinarily successful that it has been named Best Tourism Pub of 2018 by Visit England.
Food served at The Riverside commands two AA Rosettes for excellence, with all of the food chef-prepared from scratch on the premises, fresh for every meal. The ingredients are all top quality and locally sourced from the meat to the ice cream. Much of the produce is grown in the on-site kitchen garden under the guidance of Chef Patron Andy Link, a farmer’s son who cherishes good food and does it justice with an inspirational menu changing with the seasons.
The Riverside, near Ludlow and Hereford, has been accommodating overnight guests since the 1600s but the rooms have been recently renovated and individually furnished to a welcoming 4 Star level. Expect super-comfy beds, feather & down duvets, complimentary toiletries & refreshments.
The oak beam character of the premises lends itself to a convivial atmosphere, especially as the bar serves cask ales, craft spirits and other high quality beverages.
