Shemore Farm Holiday Cottage is self catering accommodation perfectly placed for a relaxing holiday in the heart of Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, famous for natural beauty, dark skies, outdoor activities and amazing wildlife. Guests enjoy total peace, yet have easy access to fantastic activities and attractions.
The stone cottage sits on a 5,000 acre working sheep farm on the banks of Loch Lomond, a famously beautiful freshwater lake. It sleeps four people in home from home comfort in one double and one twin bedroom and has a cosy living area with an open fire, a newly modernised family bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. The property is the owners’ former family home and now attracts people from all over the world.
Right on the doorstep, guests can enjoy stunning walks and cycle rides, not to mention boat trips, swimming, fishing, paddleboarding and other water sports. Within easy reach are golf courses, restaurants, a spa, exquisite gardens and historic buildings such as Inveraray Castle and Jail.
Shemore Farm cottage is owned by Kay and Dougie Wilson, who are always close at hand to help people get the most from their holiday.
“There’s lots to see and do within an hour’s drive,” says Kay, “But some people just like to relax and enjoy a break in these lovely surroundings.”
Loch Lomond Lodges
Loch Lomond Lodges are wonderfully luxurious, pet friendly accommodation right on the waterfront of Scotland’s famously beautiful lake in the Trossachs National Park. Tranquillity, comfort and spectacular scenery come together in this exquisite spot to provide families with holiday time to treasure.
The two Loch Lomond Lodges sleep six people and eight in immaculate conditions. Both have been recently redecorated, recarpeted, refurnished and fully kitted out with everything you could need. High quality equipment includes including wide screen TV, DVD and music systems and, in the kitchens, large fridge freezers, dishwashers and microwaves.
Each spacious lodge has its own balcony and private moorings for guests taking their own boats. They are located in Ardlui Holiday Park, giving access to amenities and water sports.
It’s a wonderful spot either to enjoy in itself, with watersports and hill walking on the doorstep, or to use as a base for travelling the spectacular western route up to the northern skiing & snowboarding region of Glencoe. Glasgow is an hour’s drive south.
Local eateries come recommended too.
The owners love the area so much they made Scotland their home 20 years ago.
“It’s a joy to live here,” they say. “It’s a wonderful place to enjoy rugged rural Scotland. It’s laid back and we haven’t made any compromises on comfort in our lodges.”
Peacefully situated in a woodland garden with its own stream, Whistler’s Dell is enchanting and peaceful boutique bed & breakfast accommodation in the conservation village of Rhu and an excellent base from which to enjoy and explore Scotland.
Whistler’s Dell takes guests for two nights or more, enabling them to luxuriate in 4 Star comfort in one of two recently and beautifully refurbished guest bedrooms, one with en suite facilities and the other with a private bathroom close by. Each room has TV, DVD and wi-fi, superior toiletries and hospitality supplies, plus use of fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers.
Owners Gordon and Joan Mowat strive to ensure complete and total enjoyment for their visitors in a property where deer are frequently to be seen and where delightful retrievers Hazel and Heidi are always ready with a welcome!
Green living is part of the Whistler’s Dell ethos, as evidenced by energy efficient services throughout and an emphasis on all Scottish ingredients for breakfast, sourced as locally as possible.
The spot is only a few minutes’ drive from the town of Helensburgh, Loch Lomond and Faslane naval base.
“People often stay here on the way or coming back from the Isle of Skye,” says Gordon. “We are very handy for the west coast and there are direct rail links from Helensburgh to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.”
