Guests enjoy farmhouse food and accommodation with character when they stay at The Grange Bed & Breakfast in peaceful Staffordshire countryside near Uttoxeter.
The Grange can accommodate seven people in three tastefully decorated en-suite rooms in what was originally a 17th century grain store. It is comfortably furnished accommodation retaining ancient timbers and period features and rooms have everything from hospitality trays to hair dryers.
Guests are usually welcomed with tea and home baked cake and have use of a lovely lounge with books and games and beautiful gardens created by owners Mary and Mike Phillips over the past 11 years.
Breakfast bacon and sausages come from local butcher, bread from the baker’s, honey from local hives and eggs from The Grange’s own hens. Other choices include cereals, fruit, juices, traditional Staffordshire oatcakes and continental options. Mary makes her own sourdough bread and preserves.
This part of the world has much to enjoy and explore for people of all ages. Cannock Chase is a popular destination with its Go Ape high ropes course, sailing and mountain biking, while walkers love the Peak District. Many people find it fascinating to visit the potteries and youngsters gravitate to Alton Towers.
“People often stay with us when they are visiting the National Memorial Arboretum near Lichfield,” says Mary. “Lichfield itself is lovely.”
